SentryOT – Cyber Situational Awareness for OT Energy Infrastructures

TSO Cybersecurity Assesment & Transformation Plan

Scope of work: Cybersecurity Assessment and Transformation Plan for the main national grid substations.

Steps: The following steps were part of the cybersecurity assessment for each station individually to understand the current security posture and to be able to propose a transformation plan based on the findings and security risks identified.

  • Identify Assets: Determine all critical assets within the station, including network devices, servers, control systems, and data repositories.
  • Network Architecture Review: Evaluate the network architecture, including segmentation, firewall configurations, and access controls, to ensure proper isolation of critical systems and minimize the impact of a potential breach.
  • Security Policy Review: Assess existing security policies, procedures, and incident response plans to ensure they are up to date, comprehensive, and aligned with industry best practices.
  • Threat Analysis: Assess potential threats and vulnerabilities specific to the station, considering both external and internal factors. This involves analyzing potential attack vectors, such as unauthorized access, malware, social engineering, and physical breaches.
  • Vulnerability Scanning: Perform automated vulnerability scanning on all systems and networks to identify any known vulnerabilities. This helps in understanding the current security posture and prioritizing remediation efforts.
  • Penetration Testing: Conduct controlled simulated attacks to identify potential weaknesses in the station’s defenses. This involves attempting to exploit vulnerabilities in a controlled environment to evaluate the effectiveness of existing security measures.

MV Power Factor Capacitor Banks

MV Power Factor Capacitor Banks

Design, procurement, testing and commissioning of 3 capacitor banks totaling 7.5MVAR, for three MV substations inside Ar Razi plant. ​

The capacitor bank type is ABBACUS, manufactured by ABB. ​

ENEVO Group designed a new controller for the capacitor banks, using National Instruments PLCs, increasing the versatility of the controls and integrating them into the substations SCADA systems

MV & LV Switchgear Replacement

The Plant II Substation of Ar Razi Saudi Methanol Company had four low voltage MCCs that reached the end of their 30 years life cycle and needed to be replaced with a modern supply solution. Similarly, the medium voltage switchgear was equipped with old electromechanical relays that needed to be replaced with new multifunctional protection relays to increase operational safety and reliability.

GTP Vadu – Black Sea Oil & Gas

The Midia Gas Development project (MGD project) consists of the Ana and Doina gas fields. In terms of facilities, the MGD project consists of 5 production wells (1 well at Doina field and 4 wells at Ana field) a subsea gas production system over the Doina well which is connected through an 18 km pipeline with a new unmanned production platform located over Ana field. A 121 km subsea pipeline ensures the delivery of the gas from Ana platform to the shore where it continues with a 4.1 km underground pipeline to the new GTP. The processed gas is delivered into the NTS operated by Transgaz at the gas metering station to be found within the GTP Vadu.

ENEVO Group was responsible for Electrical systems testing & commissioning, field instrumentation and ICSS system testing & commissioning.

Ana Wellhead Platform – Black Sea Oil & Gas

The Ana Wellhead platform is located in the Black Sea, approx. 120km offshore, and is a gas extraction platform with a capacity of 130,000 standard cubic meters/hour.

ENEVO Group was responsible for Electrical systems testing & commissioning, field instrumentation and ICSS system testing & commissioning.
